Thanksgiving 1984 (How Dare You Want A Whole Turkey!)

Thanksgiving

It seems a bit insane, doesn’t it? While the policies and actions of the Biden-Harris administration continue to cause fuel and energy prices to spiral out of control, feeding inflation and exacerbating already over-strained supply lines still attempting to cope with a massive manpower shortage due to COVID19 restrictions, nobody in government or the media can seem to grasp precisely WHY all of this is happening. Why we’re about to have the most expensive Thanksgiving dinner in American history. Because surely! Their superior policies and politics aren’t to blame, no… it’s you. You’re the problem. Your expectations need to change… they need to … lower.

In September, the Consumer Price Index for food was up 4.6 percent from a year ago. Prices for meat, poultry, fish, and eggs soared 10.5 percent.

In an October 25th write-up, The New York Times told their readers that for the precipitous leap in grocery, fuel, and consumer goods prices that will add up to the most expensive Thanksgiving ever.

“There is no single culprit. The nation’s food supply has been battered by a knotted supply chain, high transportation expenses, labor shortages, trade policies and bad weather. Inflation is at play, too. “

Whole frozen birds between eight and 16 pounds already cost 25 cents a pound more than they did a year ago, according to the weekly Department of Agriculture turkey report released on Friday. Instead of pointing to the multiple backfiring and failing policies of the Biden White House and the Democrat-controlled Congress they instead go on to cite “Extreme weather”, “A late-spring drought in the Midwest”, “freezing weather in 2019”, and even “Hurricane Ida” for skyrocketing prices.

Even an article in Forbes ignored the obvious when they parroted Biden saying, “a president can take to impact gasoline prices in the short term. Those few actions historically have been 1). Release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve; 2). Increase gasoline taxes; or 3). Engage in a war in the Middle East.” Completely ignoring that Biden eliminated leases for oil and natural gas exploration and drilling on Federal lands which he could reverse in a day and a few months downrange we would see the impact of just as we did in 2016, and that he could with a signature put the proverbial wheels back on the Keystone XL pipeline, with Canada’s enthusiastic support. In 2012 a Senate report from the Dept. of Energy confirmed that the Keystone XL Pipeline would lower fuel costs. Costs that cascade through the entire economy, but we won’t hear about that from the mainstream media. But #EmptyShelvesBiden continues to trend because the people know.

The Media & Democrats Just Can’t Figure Out The Cause

Make no mistake, this is deliberate. It’s the very definition of being obtuse: not merely being stupid, but being stupid on purpose. All of this comes down to a media which is deliberately refusing to see the forest for the trees that they themselves are propping up. From the job-crushing COVID19 “benefits” to the economy stifling lockdowns that devastated the economy in a blow we may never recover from, the vaccine and mask mandates that further slow down any hope of recovery, and of course the devastating anti-fossil fuels with no replacement agenda. Solar isn’t ready, electrical cars aren’t ready, and our supply lines are so devastated you can’t even get a graphics card for a pc let alone the circuitry necessary for an electric vehicle.

Right now they blame capitalism for the shortfalls of their socialistic policies, but soon, they won’t even have to do that. We’ll be reaching the point where you’ll be shamed for even expecting the standard of living we have now. Remember? You might need to “lower your expectations”?

Here’s what you’re going to continue to see from the mainstream media and the Biden-Harris regime, first they’re going to continue to blame absolutely everything under the sun (except for their disastrous policies) for the dire trouble the world is in right now. Then they’re going to tell you that you are being unreasonable for expecting the standard of living that you and your parents and grandparents grew up with. Finally, they’re going to shame you for ever thinking you had the ‘privilege’ of living the way Americans have for generations. How dare you!

If you dare to question why you can only have a six-pack of one-ply toilet paper, 300 grams of meat substitute, and four stalks of celery? Or if you profess that you had a right to choose what medical procedures you can and cannot have? Or if you even deign to challenge the will of the people in any way shape or form, look forward to something like this as a response, if we keep our current trajectory of the media and popular culture running interference for the regime:

“That’s just your White/Straight/Cisgender/Christian/[Insert new category] privilege! [Insert oppressed group here] never had that! And your ancestors stole it from [Insert oppressed group again]. You’re disgusting if you think that you deserve to live like that!”

From 1984: “It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday […] it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it. [...] The eyeless creature at the other table swallowed it fanatically. passionately, with a furious desire to track down, denounce, and vaporize anyone who should suggest that last week the ration had been thirty grams. Syme, too-in some more double complex way, involving doublethink-Syme, swallowed it. Was he, then, alone in the possession of a memory?”
