It's Worse Than We Thought—'RuPaul's Drag Race: Night of the Living Drag' Shreveport UPDATED
On Tuesday AGR broke an original story about “RuPaul's Drag Race: Night of the Living Drag” expected to arrive at the Shreveport Municipal Theater on Oct. 20th from 8-10:30 p.m. We were all a bit taken aback by the fact that although some cities, (we cited Evansville, IN) recommended that children 14 and under not view this show we definitely weren’t prepared for what we found with a little more digging on Ticketmaster.
The thing about breaking original reporting and developing news is that sometimes… well it develops.
Overnight we did some more looking and found at least four Ticketmaster sites for different theaters across the country that have recommended or even limited sales to 18+ or even 21 and older for this event!
That includes; Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Ames, Iowa; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Hammond, Indiana.
Shockingly the Portland, Maine show is listed proudly 'for all ages', in Chattanooga, “Children ages 3+ must have a ticket unless otherwise specified,” despite being for “Ages 18 and over”
Ticketmaster as we updated the previous story told us to “reach out to the event organizers for any inquiries on this event,' but there's still no response from the production company.
It’s difficult to comprehend how spotty the determination about this show is. In some cities it’s “all ages” in others 18 and older, some still 21+, but in Shreveport, and others as well there seems to be no guidance given regarding whether or not children should attend. Glaringly, the answer appears to be a resounding ‘no,’ whether Ticketmaster, Voss Events or Shreveport Municipal Theater think so or not.
